Using the LINOVISION Tool Box to Configure Solar-CMP10A/POE-804G-Solar

Using the LINOVISION Tool Box to Configure Solar-CMP10A/POE-804G-Solar

You can quickly and easily configure all parameters of your solar charge controller—or assist with troubleshooting—by using the LINOVISION Tool Box together with an RS485-to-USB cable and a PC. Download the latest version via this link.

Windows – download the exe version
macOS (Intel-based) – download the x64.dmg version
macOS (M-series) – download the arm64.dmg version

Configuration Method

A. Complete the physical connections

Connect the RS485 port of your Solar-CMP10A or POE-804G-Solar to an RS485-to-USB cable and hook up the battery (Connect the red wire to RS485A and the blue wire to RS485B). Plug the USB end of the cable into your PC.
The maximum battery voltage that the Solar-CMP10A/POE-804G-Solar can support is fixed at 34 V. In other words, under the default 12 V lithium-battery configuration, you can safely connect a 24 V battery bank—provided that no PV array is connected for charging.

B. Launch LINOVISION Tool Box

In Select Port, choose the port corresponding to your RS485-to-USB cable (usually the most recently added). In Device, select Solar-CMP10A/POE-804G-Solar, then click Start.
  1. If you see Running below the button and the chart panel appears, the connection is successful. click Config to proceed to the next configuration step.
You can load the default configuration via the toolbar button, or manually edit each parameter.
  1. To configure a 24 V battery manually, enter all values as if for a 12 V system, then set the system voltage level to 24 V — the controller will automatically double the parameters during operation.
